What Is CRM and Why Is It Important For Your Business?

What is CRM?

If you’re not so clued-up about what is CRM, you might be wondering what on earth everyone’s going on about. Now is a great time to understand what CRM actually is.

If you want to maintain a good relationship with your customers and improve profits, it’s an important consideration. To help you, there are three FAQ’s about what is CRM for which I’ve provided answers.

What is CRM?

What Is CRM?
CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management. It’s a way of maintaining your relationship with both existing customers and potential customers. You can buy standalone Customer Relationship Management software if you need it. Alternatively, you’ll often find it embedded within feature-rich business management software.

The tools that are on offer will allow you to make profits, retain customers and generally keep a track of things. CRM has changed over the years to incorporate new technologies like social media, and it’s getting more advanced all the time. As such, it is becoming increasingly attractive as an option for businesses.

How Can It Help Me Make Profits?
This is the key question that’s surely on your mind, and there are many answers. Firstly, CRM allows you to manage all of the potential customers that haven’t bought into your brand yet. I’m talking about the ones that have shown interest in the past but didn’t bite. CRM gives you a platform to store all of those leads that you can follow-up with in the future.

It also allows you to know when a customer might be eligible for a free upgrade for certain services, for example. They benefit from the free additions, and you benefit from an extended period of loyalty.

We’re only scratching the surface; there are multiple possibilities for profit-making at your disposal.

Can It Improve Existing Customer Relations?

Of course it can! In fact, many companies invest in a CRM solution for this very task alone. In one handy solution, you’re able to keep a track of customers’ needs; sometimes before they even realise it!

This builds brand trust and loyalty, especially if you’re willing to go the extra mile to look after them. CRM can also cut down on admin tasks that would otherwise take far too long to complete. This frees up time to focus on other areas of customer relations that would be neglected under normal circumstances. Ultimately, the possibilities on offer mean that you’ll be able to spend more time with your customers. This gives you more time to close more deals.
Honestly; it’s very hard for me to pinpoint any negatives with CRM. There’s a reason why so many businesses are using it! That doesn’t mean it’s suitable for everyone, though. If you’re a particularly new startup with no repeat customers and very low sales, you might not see the point. That doesn’t mean you can’t use it, but it might be worth waiting until you’re more established. Aside from that, CRM will play an important role whenever a business needs to deal with customers. Start reaping the benefits for your company!
