Insanely Clever Marketing

Are you a woman in business? Then She Lion roars for you. If you are anything like me, you probably have lots of handbags and a few you use regularly. At last count I had 45… ooops, that’s a bit embarrassing – but when you take into consideration bags for day, bags for night, casual bags, beaded bags, clutches, different colours, small, larger, vintage and modern it starts to add up.

As business women, we know the value of looking professional, chic and groomed. But as business women we also know it’s hard to look hip and happening when you have to take a man-style briefcase to a presentation just to hold all your materials.

If you are someone who visits clients, presents proposals, attends board meetings (or any professional meeting), or who gives presentations then you’ll know what I’m talking about. We take so much care with the rest of our personal presentation, why should our handbag let us down?

This was exactly the thought process of Melbourne Lawyer, Kate Dillon, who was also studying fashion law. Kate saw a gap in the market for chic but highly functional bags suitable for women wishing to carry everything from make-up to lap top.

I have a Deal Closer + LapTop Bag (pictured above in Burgundy Prism) which boasts a very sturdy, yet glamorous, outer bag into which a separate laptop bag slides. The laptop bag can easily be used as a totally separate cross-body or shoulder satchel for a full-sized laptop and papers, plus a zippered outer pocket for an iPad and second closeable A4-size pocket for presentation papers, magazines, etc.

The bigger ‘outer’ bag is incredibly roomy with slots for mobile phone, pens, credit cards, business cards, laptop and mobile phone chargers, makeup, etc. It’s also VERY strong with what appears to be  reinforced brass connecting the handles (of which there are two – long or short) to the bag itself.

When I do my radio show I take laptop, ipad, usually five magazines (Elle, Vogue, House + Garden, etc), spiral notebook, notes, mobile phone, pens, headphones and make-up. ALL that fits in the Deal Closer + Lap Top Bag. PLUS, the handles don’t strain they carry the weight easily.

I also have other She Lion bags I use regularly.
